"I was at a store today waiting in line to pay for for my goodies and a BJK fan came up to me with a good question. His question was : Why are u guys playing so good in Champions League but having problems to create chances against yesterday’s team. I answered : That’s a great question and i will try to explain.

Crazy as it sounds but in the Champions League is easier to play a better game because of the following reasons. Every team is trying to play football and is trying to go forward and attack. If u have 2 teams trying to do that in a game u will have a open game which means more attacking attempts for both.

A game like yesterday is very different from a Champions League game ofcourse because most teams the turkish League are sitting back with 11 man infront of their goal and waiting on our mistakes to counter.

That is the main difference why games like yesterday are actually the most difficult games to play. Every big team is having this issue wether it is Besiktas or Barcelona or Manchester City.

I asked if people were watching Man City because they play exactly the same game we played yesterday.. meaning the team they are facing now is sitting back infront of their goal which makes it harder to create chances... At this moment Man city is down 1-0.

I want to make it clear that this is NOT an excuse for us dropping points... but i want you to understand after being champion 2 seasons in a row.. teams are just going to do everything in their power to make it as hard as possible for us.

We want to apologize as team and we will work harder to have a solution for these types of games in the future.
